Free. Apparently it’s how you make money now days!
Posted on 24. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
Something highly unusual has been happening over the past several years. There is no doubt that it is more expensive to live now than it was 10 years ago, but have you noticed how many things we have available today that are now free? I remember when I got my first free web-based email account. My hotmail account had like 2MB of space on it. I seem to recall hitting that 2MB limit every few months and I’d have to go in and clear out all the stuff I didn’t need. A few years later I switched over to Yahoo because they offered 5MB. I knew there was always the option of paying $25 a year for 500MB or something like that.… Read the rest

My tournament brackets
Posted on 22. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
It seems that everyone else (Pudge and Matt) is posting their brackets in their blogs today, so I figured I’d do the same. I set mine up on Thursday. I love college basketball, but I don’t don’t watch any games until March. It’s just the way I roll.

What I like about Apple
Posted on 22. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
One word. Innovation.
By reading my other posts, you might think I was a mac hater. By no means. I didn’t use my first Windows based PC until 1995. From the time I was 6 or 7, we had an Apple computer in our house. At school I used the Macs in the computer lab. For graduation, one. Once Steve Jobs came back as interim CEO, everything started to change. Six months before I sold my Mac, the first iMac came out. Who thought people would want computers in colors other than beige? During this time Mac introduced new technologies such as USB, Firewire, the absence of floppy disks. Not long after this was iTunes, the iPod, iLife and everything else.… Read the rest

100th post milestone
Posted on 21. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
I’ve always felt it was important to celebrate milestones. For me I just passed the 100 mark which I feel very good about. Actually, I’ll be celebrating 1 year of blogging in a little over a week, so that will be another milestone as well. I certainly would have liked to have had more than 100 posts this far into blogging, but I did have some valid events come up in my life. Interestingly enough, I am also celebrating my 100th post on my personal/family blog today as well (honestly, I didn’t plan that at all) which I started several months after this one. In the times that I was not blogging regularly for this site, I was continuing to post on my family blog.… Read the rest

A call for leadership
Posted on 21. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
Two days ago I wrote a review on John Burke’s book, “No Perfect People Allowed.” I enjoyed every chapter of the book, but the very last chapter spoke to my heart in a powerful way. I have no doubt that my call is to children, but after reading this chapter, it makes me what to go out and plant an emerging church. Here’s a quote from this chapter:… Read the rest

Google Analytics: Tracking your blog (or web site for that matter)
Posted on 21. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
I’ve noticed that only about half of the most popular CM blogs are using Google Analytics. I really don’t know why. Maybe they don’t know what it is, or how to set it up. So, I thought I’d post this blog to explain what Google Analytics is and how you can enjoy the benefits of this great and FREE service.… Read the rest

Why I don’t want an iPhone… yet
Posted on 20. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
No, I’m not a hater. Really, I just don’t want one. Actually, it’s not that I don’t want one, it’s just that the iPone isn’t what I want in a phone…yet. I’ve read lots of other blogs where people share their love and excitement for the iPhone. Well, here are my thoughts:… Read the rest

Book Review: No Perfect People Allowed by John Burke
Posted on 19. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
Over the past 3 months I’ve started reading 5 different books but haven’t finished any recently. I’ve decided to finish some of them before starting any new one. Last night I finished reading “No Perfect People Allowed” by John Burke. Two words… absolutely incredible!… Read the rest

What do you use to blog? I’m using Windows Live Writer!
Posted on 19. Mar, 2008 by Kenny.
When it comes to tech, I’m Switzerland. No really, I’m truly neutral. Actually, that’s not completely true. I’m Switzerland with some strong opinions. I’m a big believer in anything “open.” I love Google and want them to continue to succeed because I think they’re giving the big boys like Microsoft a run for their money. So, all this being said, I don’t vote a straight ticket. I use whatever is best out there. For blogging, I’ve been using a Microsoft product.… Read the rest
