A phrase I’m not saying anymore

Call me strange, but sometimes I re-analyze the words that come out of my mouth. At times I ask myself, “Do I even know what that means?” Or I ask myself, “Does that even mean what I think it means.” I think I became more self aware when be began teaching baptism classes for kids and I talk about words like “Lord,” Confess” and Saved” as words that kids often hear and even say but don’t have any idea what they mean. It’s funny, really.
So, a few years ago I was praying with someone and we prayed a hedge of protection around them for safety. I think they may have been traveling or something. I can’t even remember if I prayed it or not.… Read the rest

Now that’s just weird…

If you read this blog, you know that I talk about books, videos, music and all kinds of other resources. Whenever I can, I’ll link over to the product I’m reviewing at Amazon. Why? Two reasons really:
- Amazon rocks! Why ever leave your house to get stuff you want any more, right?
- I’m an Amazon reseller. That means if you buy something from Amazon after I send you there, Amazon shares a small percentage of the sale with me. It’s not much, but it pays my hosting bills and such.
So, I like to look at my resellers account and see what people bought. It’s always exciting to see the resources purchased that I recommended.
However, if you zip over to Amazon from one of my links and end up buying something entirely different, I still get a percentage of the sale.… Read the rest

Catching up!

Okay, I’m a little behind on my email. I have three inboxes. One for work, one for personal and one for childrensministryonline.com. As far as priority goes, chidlrensministryonline.com is at the bottom of the stack. I’ve been amazed though how busy my CMO inbox has gotten. It’s a blessing really, I love the networking and interaction.
I’m saying all this though to let you know that I’m catching up this week and next. I have 37 unread emails in my CMO inbox right now, some of them from back when this crazy summer started. I’ll be responding to all my email, so if you’ve been waiting to hear back from me, I’m coming, I promise!

Have I sold out?

Okay, this is a little awkward. Recently I’ve posted some ad space on this blog and I’ve gained a few advertisers. I just thought I’d throw it out there. If someone wants to buy and ad space, I’d be more than glad to sell it to you. This blog is a passion of mine and I’ve put thousands of hours into it. However, I’m not the type that thinks if you sell ads you’ve somehow “sold out.” Actually, the more money I gain in ad space, the more my wife will tolerate all the time I spend writing. Okay, I made that last part up, my wife is very supportive. 
I’ve actually told my wife that every dollar that comes in from the ad revenue will go to our “replace one of our crappy cars” fund.… Read the rest

iPhone 4

I was very please to get home from Colorado last night with a package waiting for me on the kitchen counter… my much awaited iPhone 4. A few weeks ago I upgraded my 3G to iPhone4 software and I’ve been regretting it as it choked my 3G. I knew there were options to go back, but I didn’t want to give up some of the new email options… so I’ve put up with the slow system until the new phone arrived. I’m really excited to play with the video options. A few weeks ago I came across this short film entirely shot and edited on the iPhone 4. Pretty impressive.
