What is your point of view?

I’m the extreme optimist. In reality, that glass is barely 1/4 full, but I’ll insist that there is more than enough!

[...] few weeks ago I posted a silly entry about “point of view.” I mentioned that I’m an extreme optimist. I actually really love this about my personality. [...]

I am either a realistic optimist, or an optimistic realist. Because the government has altered the molecular structure of my glass– as they have done with every person– so that they can spy on me, I am going to break the code and parlay the gathered intelligence into a new profit center on ebay, offering glasses which are immune to secret government spying; that is, I would do that if glasses even existed.

Technically the glass is completely full…it is comprised of part air and part liquid. The symbolism of the half empty/half full glass has always been based on the assumption that the liquid is what’s of value. Why have we been so prejudiced against air anyway? The glass is full…it’s always full…and it is my attitude that keeps me blinded to “only the liquid is valuable”…but if I see liquid and air as equals…IT’S ALWAYS FULL…so…I should practice in life looking at things that don’t SEEM valuable and see their value…and oh…is life full then!
I’d say I’m a philosophist…yes…I know that’s not a word.
