Okay. All the tweets going to Orange… it’s time to setup the tweetup!

I don’t know that anyone is officially “organizing” this event, so i figured we could, just like we created the #kidmin and #orange09 hashtags.

Since we’re about two months away, I figured that we should go ahead and establish the when and where so we have plenty of time to promote. That’s what I say.

Here is what I suggest:

Location: The Varsity. It’s an Atlanta icon. It’s about 20 minutes or so from the conference, but it’s a large venue. Even if we had 300 attend the tweetup (wouldn’t that be awesome), the Varsity could handle it without batting an eye. Also, the Varsity works becasue of their legendary onion rings. Oh yeah!

Time: I propose that we meet 9:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28th. Early registration is from 7:00-9:00 PM. I know that it is the day before the conference begins and there is a chance that some people won’t be there yet. However, I’m coming to Orange with my team and I have a feeling that most nights during the conference I’ll be hanging out and unpacking the conference with them. Doing it the night before the conference begins is a “free” night. Also, why not meet everyone we’ve been twittering before it all starts so that when we see each other in the hallways and such, we can continue the conversations we’ve already started.

So, those are just my suggestions. The Varsity is open util 11:30 PM That gives everyone plenty of time to hang out a for a while. Write a comment with your thougths. I’d love to figure this out and “book” it in the next few days. We can figure this out in the comments to this post and once we’ve decided on the day, time and location, we’ll spread the word across our blogs and on twitter. Sound good?
