I have heard good men and women rave about the Orange Conference. I have heard about Orange concepts. One of the guys I follow on Twitter even had an Orange for a head! I know the Orange philosophy involves blending. But I am woefully ignorant of the particulars. And although I am not a proverbial spring chicken, I am very much a student of children's ministries. And as a student, I do not like to be woefully ignorant of anything that has inspired so many. I cannot ensure that I will put an orange on my head, but it would be nice to bridge the gap and maybe even find some inspiration myself. I am new to children's ministry (been serving for almost 4 years, and leading for less) and I am trying to learn all I can to make our K-5th graders feel comfortable and loved when they come to church. As well as have a lot of fun. This book would be a great tool to have as we are trying to build our children's ministry. BTW, looking forward to meeting and getting to know some new folks next week!! This will be my first trip to Orange. We're very excited to learn North Point's Model and we are hoping to put everything we learn and hear and see to good use this fall as we begin using 252 Basics in each of our 3 services (2 Sunday and 1 Midweek). We are sooo excited! I would love to read Reggie's book! We are a church that has been around for more than 30 years in it's current state but had been 3 separate churches before that. To change perspectives and "go Orange" we are going to have alot of work to do and alot of 2 degree changes to make before we can get there. It may become a bit of a longer term project, but will be well worth it in the end. I actually sent Reggie a message on Facebook about our children's ministry and he was kind enough to answer it - what a great guy!!! Blessings!
