Twitpocalypse: It’s Y2K all over again

Picture 2Beware! Stock up on canned food and water! Buy gold! Hide in the closet! Twitter is coming to an end…

Well, until someone hits the restart button or something like that.

I don’t really know why this works this way or why this is going to happen. However ever tweet has a unique identifier. In a few days we’re going to hit 2,147,483,647 tweets/unique identifiers. Supposedly when this number is reached, many 3rd party aps will revert to negative numbers (again, I don’t know why… but it’s just what they’re saying). As a result, it’s likely that many of these popular 3rd party aps are going to fail (whale?).

When is the coming disaster? It’s estimated to happen just before 9:00 AM on Saturday morning. This Saturday, June 13th.
