Who wants to be the 2000th comment?

Lucky you. I just noticed that I have 1999 comments on my blog. You have the opportunity to write the 2000th! Wow, what an event. It’s kinda like watching the odometer flip over to 100,000!
So, what are you going to say? Will it be significant? Will it be funny? You decide. Remember, if I don’t like it, I can just delete it.

Sharing the comment love

I just found a great new WordPress plugin. It’s called commentluv. If you have a self hosted WordPress blog, I totally recommend loading and activating this plugin. The beautiful thing about blogging is the inter-connectivity of most blogs. It’s like a giant web of connectedness. Most of the blogs I follow I’ve found through reading comments on other blogs or through links. Comment love takes this to another level. When you leave a comment on this site, you have the opportunity to type in your website. If your website has a RSS feed (like your blog) commentluv will try to find it and post a link to your most recent blog post as an attempt at a little cross promotion.… Read the rest

Show some love: Blog comments

A few months ago I helped my wife set up her own blog. Once it was up, she immediately wrote four or five posts. She added her website to her facebook profile and within hours the traffic started coming.
After a day or two, she came to me with a scowl on her face. She asked, “why are all these people visiting my site (I set her up with analytics), but no one is leaving any comments?”
I smiled and said, “join the club! Everyone who blogs wants more comments on their posts.”
