Winner of God’s Kids Easter Resource

Well, we had a handful of tweets go out as well as some really great comments on the original post. If you’re looking for some great Easter ideas, I’d recommend reading through some of the comments. So for every daily tweet, I put the name in the virtual hat. For every comment, I also put a name in the virtual hat. Last of all, I chose one idea that I liked the most and put it in the hat five times.

The idea I liked the most was from Kim with the Maundy Thursday Family Service. I’ll be honest, I’ve grown up in the church my entire life and have never heard of Maundy Thursday. I love the concept, especially how they’ve created a family experience around it. I’ll say that the second idea I liked was Susan’s idea with all the crosses in the yard, so thanks for adding that. So, Kim I put your name in an additional five times.

So, I ran all the names through a simple randomizer at random.org, and the winner is…

Kim! Woo hoo! Congrats to you! I’ll get with you later one details. Remember, you can still pick up this great resource here.

Today’s Orange Leaders Challenge:

The success of every leader is dependent upon knowing where to get your questions answered and knowing how to network with other leaders.

Today we will challenge you to do both. We have come up with a phrase, and the first two people to write the complete phrase on the Orange Leaders Facebook page, will win!

In order to figure out the phrase, you will need to get a little help. Who can give you the most help on your Orange journey? Your Orange Specialist of course. Find the Orange Specialist for your state, and they will give you one word of the phrase. Then, connect with other leaders from around the country to find out the rest of the words. (Hint: Each Orange Specialist will have a different word. Orange Specialists are assigned by region of the country and curriculum.) You can use the blog, Twitter, and Facebook as well as networking, to connect with other Orange Leaders!

Today’s winners will receive either the Orange Team Bundle or the Orange Resource Leadership Bundle.

Go to www.orangeleaders.com for details!

voteRound two of the 2010 Blog Madness competition has begun. The 64 bloggers from round one have been reduced just just 16. Now the competition is heating up. Among this final group of 16 are some pretty incredible people, many I’ve met and totally respect and several I count and close friends.

So, this week I’m counting on your vote. My blog, Childrens Ministry Online is located in the South Division. I pulled out a first round victory, but winning this round isn’t going to be easy at all. I do expect Orange Leaders to give me a run for my money.

If you subscribe to this blog and check it out from time to time, I’d greatly appreciate your vote. Just click here to go to the voting site. I’m the top selection in the South Division. Thanks for your vote!

Reggie Joiner’s middle name is…

You know what, I almost forgot about announcing the winner of this contest. Oops! Well, sorry about that, so let’s get back to it.

So, as a reminder, the winner get’s an autographed Think Orange and Think Orange companion workbook as soon as the companion book comes out (good things come to those who wait).

So, like I said before, Reggie’s middle name is Reggie, it’s his first name that we’re trying to get. And, the much anticipated answer to the question “What is Reggie Joiner’s first name” is:

Herschel

What a great name, huh? Sounds like there’s a story behind it.

So, I’ve never met anyone named Herschel, so I didn’t expect anyone to get it. I was going to award the winner to the one who got the closest. However, two people actually named “Hershel” as their answers. Like I said before, I didn’t expect anyone to get this, and then I had two. What are the odds? I’ll be honest, I think our two winners either have an inside source or some pretty good detective work. That’s okay, I didn’t list any restrictions, so if they had some inside knowledge, that’s perfectly fine by me. (by the way, if either of you actually just guessed it, then super huge props to you! With that luck gift, I’m going to have you buy me a lottery tocket).

So, my winners are Theresa Haskins and Robert Johnson.

Unfortunately, I can only have one winner. So, I need to have a sudden death. Here’s the rules. I’ve got one more question and the first person to answer it wins it all. I don’t care who you ask or what you do to find the answer. I’m sure there’s a certain amount of public information out there where you might be able to find it, so search hard. Oh, and one more thing. You only have 5 guesses, so feel free to guess 5 times in 5 separate comments are 5 times all in one.

The Question: Where was I born?

The answer needs to be specific down to the city. I will not give out any clues or reveal any more information. Remember, both Robert and Theresa have 5 shots. The person who names a city that is the closest to my birthplace is the winner. Ready…. Set…. Go!

The Google Wave winner(s)!

woo-hoo Last week I held a little contest to give away my final Google Wave invite/nomination. Eleven or so people entered and yesterday I randomly picked one of the eleven (someone who had previously commented on this blog before).

The winner? Kendra Golden! Woo Hoo!

But that’s not all. That may have been my last invite, but I’ve got friends, co-workers and staff who have or will soon have more invites. So in addition, I sent invites to three more randomly selected people who commented on my contest post. Those people are Todd McKeever, Chris Chancey and Erin English. Yeaaaa! More winners. Who knows, maybe I’ll send out a few more when I get them.

So, thanks to those of you who participated in my little contest. Even more importantly, thanks for being a part of this community!
