It came and went and no body knew it. February 3rd was the 2nd birthday of #kidmin. We should be ashamed!
Happy Belated Birthday Kidmin!
People always seem to give me the credit for coming up with the hashtag. I was a part of it, but it was a team effort. In case you don’t remember (or weren’t even on twitter yet, here’s where it all started.
After the superbowl in 2009, John Mullis (@johnincolorado) tweeted me asking me if there was a hash tag for children’s ministry. There were a lot of us children’s ministry leaders on twitter that night goofing off on twitter in conjunction with the superbowl. Start thinking Orange with #THINKORANGE

So, the new twitter hashtag is only a day or two old. As we were getting ready to start Orange Week 2.0 we started asking, “how should we tag this?” Should we used #orange11, #orangeleaders or even start a new tag like #orangeweek. Several of us expressed frustration of having so many different hashtags to communicate orange. So, lots of people put their heads together to come up with one, all encompassing hashtag. So, if  you’ve got anything to say on twitter about Orange, the Orang Tour, the Orange Conference, ministry to families or any of that stuff, use #THINKORANGE. Isn’t that great? Even if you just need a ask a question to a bunch of Orange Thinkers, use the tag and message the community.… Read the rest

Children’s Ministry #Hashtag adopted

Looks like we’ve settled on a standard, #kidmin. #CM was a little more convenient, but kinda already taken. Although there seems to be no governing of hashtags, we could have just started using it, but I guess that would be a little bullish. So, #kidmin it is.
