I must admit that this year’s opening session was the best ever. Unexpected? Yes. At first I didn’t know what I thought. Normally Reggie gives the big Orange message, but this year it was more of an introduction to Collide with an interview and message from another speaker. So at first I was a little disappointing I guess, but not becasue it wasn’t good. Does that make sense? However, as time goes by, the more I liked it. There are many things that continue to stick with me from that opening session.
The very opening was powerful. A speaker/actor gave a 10-15 minute monologue that was simply amazing. Through his carefully selected prose, he took all 4000 participants along an engaging journey of what ministry is like, what it needs and a hope for the future.… Read the rest

Today’s Orange Leaders Challenge:
The success of every leader is dependent upon knowing where to get your questions answered and knowing how to network with other leaders.
Today we will challenge you to do both. We have come up with a phrase, and the first two people to write the complete phrase on the Orange Leaders Facebook page, will win!
In order to figure out the phrase, you will need to get a little help. Who can give you the most help on your Orange journey? Your Orange Specialist of course. Find the Orange Specialist for your state, and they will give you one word of the phrase. Then, connect with other leaders from around the country to find out the rest of the words.… Read the rest

Check out #Orange10 Backstage!
Posted on 26. Apr, 2010 by Kenny.
Over 4000 people will attend Orange this week. That’s not too shabby. However, I know that many are stuck at home for one reason or another. That’s okay, you still get to experience a little bit of Orange. Actually, you can experience a little bit of Orange that even those at Orange won’t experience. Lucky You!
Last week it was announce on Making of Orange that there will be a live stream of the conference coming from backstage during most of the event. What’s going to be streaming? Well, the opening session for starters. In addition to that, there will be hours and hours of interviews of ministry leaders and messages that will rock your world. These aren’t video clips and sound bites from other stuff, this is live and current, specifically for ministry leaders who think Orange but couldn’t make it to Atlanta this year.… Read the rest

Have you ever had really high expectations for something and when you got there it was just… meh? Been there. But there’s something really cool about having a high level of anticipation about something that is GOING TO BE HUGE! Well my friends, that’s the 2010 Orange Conference for you. In spite of economic challenges and all the other things that could distract, Orange is BLOWING UP! Still being a month away, this year’s Orange Conference is smashing previous year’s registration. It’s going to be a year for the record books! If you’ve been in the past, you’re going to notice a difference. How exciting to be a part of a movement that’s got huge momentum. God’s certainly doing something through this strategy and this gathering of ideas to change families forever.… Read the rest

Reggie Joiner’s first webcast
Posted on 12. Feb, 2010 by Kenny.
In case you missed it yesterday, Reggie hosted a webcast from the reThink offices in north Georgia. Reggie talked a lot about what is happening right now around the reThink offices as they gear up for the Orange Conference. There are a lot of things going on right now including a study with the Barna Group about the state of the family as well as a book concerning the faith transition from 18-25 years.
Reggie will be doing webcasts every week and it’s certainly something you’ll want to participate in. Reggie spends a lot of time answering questions of the viewers. Below is the webcast from February 11th.

Why attend the Orange Conference 10: Reason #5
Posted on 08. Feb, 2010 by Kenny.
This year Orange is going to offer a few breakouts covering a very practical topic. Ministering to kids with “special need.” For a lot of churches, there just isn’t a strong plan (or plan at all) for special needs. I have very little experience or knowledge in working with kids with special needs. However, over the years, I’ve been grateful to have people on my staff that knew and loved this area well. If you’re church doesn’t have a plan or needs to grow in this area, consider this a great bonus for attending Orange. I’m sure the breakouts will be amazing, but it should be a great place to network with others who are in the same process as you or a little further down the road.… Read the rest

Why attend the Orange Conference 10: Reason #4
Posted on 04. Feb, 2010 by Kenny.
You’ve probably heard the statistic that more than 70% of students walk away from their faith within one year of graduating high school? Reggie has been working on a study about the loss of faith in college students and it’s turned into a book called “Slow Fadeâ€.  This is another hot question in the Christian community over the past several years and the topic of many studies (and even controversy over what it means).  Reggie has a unique take on what is happening that will bring clarity to this issue.
You may be thinking, “I work with kids, why does this matter to me?” That’s a dumb question. Of course it matters to those who work with kids becasue these kids walking away from their faith are our investment.… Read the rest
