When Google Wave was released, I wanted one in a serious way. Several of my friends began getting them. I knew that several of them got Wave without any invites where others did. I also knew that the people who got invites only got 8. 8 isn’t very many. So, I was incredibly grateful when my good friend Matt McKee sent me an invite last week. Since then, I’ve had a lot of fun playing around with Wave and inviting others I work with on a regular basis. I wasn’t really sending out invites to be generous, but to people I thought I’d use Wave with. Due to Wave’s slow release, it doesn’t do you any good if you don’t have people on Wave to collaborate with. Even Jonathan Cliff sent me a few extra invites to that I could get more of my staff team on Wave.
So, I do have one left and I want to give it away to one of my blog readers. Through this blog I’ve done my best to share ideas, thoughts and stories. This time I want to share somethign a little more tangible (as tangible as a web-based service can be).
So, here’s how the give-away is going to work. I can’t tell you how much I value those who read and interact with this blog. I strive to have good content, but it’s comments and interaction that makes it so much better. So, I’m going to give my last Google Wave invite to someone who has previously left a comment on this blog within the last 6 months. It’s pays to interact!
But wait, there’s more. Within a week, I should have another invite, or two, or three. I’ll give away at least one more, maybe as many as three. Whether you’ve commented on this blog before or not, leave a comment on this post and I’ll select 1-3 commenters to get Wave invites. In your comment, explain why you want it.
I would love an invite!
With that said… You know I LOVE your blog and have gleaned SO MUCH good information. Your blog has changed the way we do Ministry at our church, and hundreds will be blessed because of it. Thanks (again) for sharing!!
Oh, please, please, please!
I would like to use Wave for collaboration on CM events.
Thanks!

C’mon dude- you know you wanna hook a brotha up!
In all seriousness, you know how much good it would do for us as we collaborate on the upcoming Child Dedication… and beyond.
Do I gotta beg?

Dear handsome and intelligent Kenny,
I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now and this is my very first comment. Having started at Denver Seminary just over 6 weeks ago, along with taking my first children’s ministry job, I am at a place in life where I extremely value wisdom. For that reason, I hereby commit to being a vivacious participant of your blog and a faithful surfer of your wave invite. Thanks for passing on the wisdom God has blessed you with to influence the new generation of kid’s pastors!
I have left comments before. Oh ya and again today.
I’ve been reading you for almost a year now. I enjoy the content. I would love a wave invite.
MEEEEEEEEEE!!! Pick me!
Why do I want a Google Wave invite in 75 words or less single spaced?
– When I first saw Kenny Conley’s RT on Twitter for Googlewaves I copied him. When he first came to Gateway and was Mr. Blogger, Facebooker, Twitter, TECHNOLOGY. I thought it was a little too much. But one by one I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and turns out he’s on to something. So rather than just being a skeptic this time I just figured if Kenny wanted to wave…it was the new thing and I wanted to wave too. Since then I have been reading about it, obsessing about, and I MUST wave. Please please please pick me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Q: Would I like a google wave invite?
A: Yes
Did I win?
Oh that’s a good one Kenny. That’s way better than a free book give-away and maybe even as good as Catalyst tickets (since even if you win you gotta pay to get there). Very cool. Surely I’ve commented in the last 6 months at least a few times. 🙂
Hey Kenny! Would love an invite to Google Wave. Getting ready to step into a new ministry could use it for that. Later
I’d love a Wave invite, but I won the Think Orange book, so it’s cool if someone else gets it. 🙂 I love technology and love to see how it can be used to improve what we do. BUT at this time, I’m spending too much time on FB instead of focusing on what I need to focus on. Does anyone else ever feel like that and how do you deal? Kenny, I know you took a break from blogging recently – did it help? Is it a matter of discipline?
Okay, I guess I needed to clarify. I’m going to randomly pick from the people who’ve previously commented on my blog… and have indicated on this post that they want one. For the additional invites I have to give away, I’ll also randomly select people who have commented on this post. Although I am enjoying the sucking up… you really don’t have to. 🙂 Ha! It’s been funny though.
Although, I think Chris Chancey’s comment has made me feel a little uncomfortable. 😉
I’m gong to do what I can to get as many invites out as possible.

Karen, I did take a little blogging break a few weeks ago. However, it wasn’t necessarily becasue I was too busy. It was the result of a few factors. I was trying to catch up on some other things I was behind in, but I was also taking time out to read a few books I’d been wanting to read (nothing ministry or spiritual at all… just for fun). I also felt a little uninspired. Happens from time to time. There were a few times where I opened up the blog to start typing and decided against it. Although I have the occasional fluff post, I’d prefer my content to be valuable.
I’m really not the best at time management (getting better), but I try to make the time for the things I enjoy. Blogging for me is very inspirational. I love it. I love sharing ideas, developing ideas and connecting with others. I won’t do ministry without it again, so I can’t let myself get too busy to blog and network, otherwise I feel that it will lessen my impact.
So if I don’t clamor for a Wave invite is that bad? Or am i just Evilllll, mwhaaaaaaaaaaaaa! No really. I looked at it, and it seems interesting, but not exciting. I guess it is cooler in person than on video? Let me know.
