Tonight’s the big night. Tonight is when Texas takes on Alabama for the national championship.
I’ve never been much of a sports fan, but moving to Austin has changed some of this for me. I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the first Longhorn game of the 2008-2009 season last year, my first college football experience. It was nuts! I loved every minute of it and firmly decided that I could be a Longhorn fan. It’s fun, especially in Austin. So now Sara and I watch every game that we can and follow how they’re doing throughout the season.
Today a co-worker (and avid Texas fan) sent me this link about Texas. I’m sure Alabama may have stories like this as well, but I didn’t see any of those. So, I’m looking forward to the game (actually have some Alabama fans coming over to watch). However, I’m very proud that the team I’m pulling for has some key players that serve God with their lifestyles and with their abilities. Honestly, I think it would serve the kingdom best if the Longhorns win and I bet God feels that way too. So I’m praying that God’s will would be done tonight and that Texas would wipe the floor with Alabama. Hook ’em!
I think God would actually prefer a real national championship, and none of this BCS/Bowl fluff

This lifelong Born and Bred Sooner fan just threw up in his mouth a little that someone could attend one game, and become a Longhorn Fan… ugh!
HOOK’EM, BABY, HOOK’EM! Texas Fight!
This OSU fan loves the Longhorns as well. Especially when they’re playing the Sooners. 🙂
But I still think this is a little sacrilegious. Next you’re going to tell me that Jesus would have been a registered Republican. Can you post about that. LOL
Jonathan, don’t be a hater. You’ve got to start somewhere, right? You saying I can’t be a fan of a team if I wasn’t born in the state and watching the games as a little guy? Maybe I’ll never be as big as a Texas fan as you are a Sooner fan, but I’m okay with that.
Me things someone is jealous that his team pooped out early. 🙂
Don’t be ridiculous Gina, Jesus lived in Israel, he can’t vote in an election.
Well….I’m definitely NOT a Longhorn fan as a died hard Aggie; however, being a true born Texan I WILL PROUDLY wear the Orange and root for our Texas TEAM!!!! Of course I think living in Austin is rubbing off on me!!! So, HOOK ‘EM HORNS AND LIVE THE DREAM…..AGAIN!!!!
