I’ve got 18 books on my 2010 reading list. I really love to read, but I’m just not a fast reader. So, this list of 18 books is a fairly audacious list for me. My friend Gina will read this many books in a weekend. She prefers the term “voracious” becasue that describes her approach to reading books and because she likes words like voracious. So here’s what I’m looking at.
Leadership: These are just a few books on leadership that I’ve been wanting to read for years.
Communication: These books deal both with interpersonal communication as well as crafting communication in a message.
Educational Strategy: When I finished my masters degree, I bought several books from an education point of view. It’s time to start reading these books I purchased a few years ago.
Ministry/Personal Leadership: I bought these books almost a year ago and haven’t gotten to them yet. I will this year though as I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.
Business/Tactics: I acquired both of these books this year as they’ve been talked about so much by people I respect.
Family Ministry: As I continue to create a path for parents to become the spiritual leaders in their homes, I know I need to continue to absorb information about tools they can be equipped with and strategies to get it done.

- Think Orange (I know, I feel like an Orange hypocrite for not having finished this book yet. I’ll get this one done before the conference)
You have a lot of good books there that I have read and enjoyed.
I can not usually build a wish list of reads, because I usually get them done within a short time of knowing about them. Good job though of having a list and direction of reading.
Thanks. I usually buy books a few weeks within hearing about them… but often they sit in line to be read. Some of the books on this list have been there for more than a year. 2010’s the year baby!
Good grief….you and my husband…you can’t throw in an occasional fiction book in there? For some flavor? Maybe memoir at least?
A little Twilight maybe?
I haven’t read Twilight. If I ever decide to read it….I will have to do so secretly because I would never be able to handle the ridicule from Jonathan!
Thanks for the idea…while I have a set number goal I don’t have a list, maybe I’ll make a short one.
And Great List! I loved “It” and “Communicating for a Change” I’d start with those…though “It” took a bit longer to read.

I read all the twilight books (for several reasons). I actually enjoyed the “love” story. But I also wanted to be knowledgeable so I could discuss the books with kids that DID read them. I watched Twilight on DVD with my girls (they really wanted to watch it)-that way I could explain it to them (what was REALLY happening!). I realized, however, that when you read a book, you can “picture” the parts you want to and NOT the parts you don’t. But if you go to the movies, you can’t! I made the decision NOT to watch New Moon (or any others). My girls have not expressed any interest in watching them either. It’s amazing how kids will listen when you explain your reasons!
