As I announced my intention for Orange Week last week, the folks over at ReThink thought it was a great idea. So much so, they told me to give some stuff away! So, the first item I’m giving away this week is a little DVD called “The Essence of Orange.” It’s a $40 teaching DVD and if you haven’t seen it, you’ll LOVE it!
The Essence of Orange was my first real exposure to the Orange strategy. I signed up to attend the Orange Conference simply because I though it was tied in to North Point and I had a lot of respect for those guys. I also saw their speaker line up and knew that it would be powerful. At the time I was between ministry jobs and living in South Georgia. I remember being confused about Orange as I only lived 20 miles north of Florida which was the “orange” state and the Orange Conference was happening in the heart of the “peach” state. Someone’s got their fruit mixed up. So when I was signing up for breakout sessions, I kept seeing all these Orange-ology breakouts where you could learn the Orange strategy. I just couldn’t wait. I looked for a book about the strategy but it didn’t exist (it does now). What I found instead was this DVD. I remember the day I watched this as the light bulb was coming on with aha moment after aha moment. I’d never heard the solution to the things I’ve been wrestling with in my heart for so many years communicated so clearly.
This DVD is an explanation of the Orange strategy and it’s five elements (what we’re talking about during Orange Week) in a fun and creative way. It’s a great tool for you to learn more about Orange or just brush up on what you’ve already learned. It’s an incredible resource to show your volunteers. Each of the elements are broken down into short videos followed by Q & A of several ministry leaders. What an incredible resource.
So do you want it? It’s yours for the taking.
Here’s how you can win this hot little DVD.
- Comment at the end of this post and tell me why you want it.
- Comment on my previous post interacting with the content. Share your thoughts. Ask a question. Tell about how you’re ministry is engaging in this strategy. Just engage.
You have until noon tomorrow (Central Standard Time). At that point I’ll select one winner based on their reason for wanting it. Ready, set, GO!
I would love to win this DVD to show my volunteers. I have just taken my first Childrens Ministry position in a new church and am trying to get all of us on the same page. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have been meaning to buy this for a while to show my sr. pastor and staff. But hey if I can get it for free that would be fantastic. To quote andy from the office, “Kenny beer me an Orange DVD”
I have just jumped onto the Orange wagon!! We have a team meeting scheduled for the end of the month in which I will be introducing ‘Orange’!! I am so excited about how this strategy is going to revolutionize the way we do things in our ministry and winning the DVD would be an awesome tool in demonstrating this to a very ‘set in our way’ small church!! Thanks for the chance to win this!!
I am leading a children’s ministry of a rapidly growing church. I am trying to lead the volunteer team to think and intentionally minister our kids and families Orange. I would love to use the DVD in our training meetings to spark more dialogue and thoughts of how we can better lead our kids to Christ.
Add my name to the list! I bought and read “Think Orange” last fall after watching Reggie Joiner on a webcast from the Orange Conference. Like everyone else, I would love to have the DVD to better demonstrate to our teams what I have tried to tell them myself. Unfortunately for them, my talents do not include drawing or producing graphics. Without a DVD, they will be forced to see presentations using my own graphics, and that could be pretty painful!! I love my volunteers and would hate to put them through that. 😉
i’ve been looking for a “process” of training a volunteer. i’m organized and administrative, have a heart for vision, but also have a hard time communicating vision. we’ve made the switch in our curriculum from “just pushing play” to volunteers leading kids in activities and a true learning God experience. i would love to have this to show a new volunteer (or parents even!) why we do what we do.
I am a Children’s Minister in Greenville, SC and have totally bought into “Orange” even though I grew up a FSU fan and the color orange is not a good color on me or around me (i.e. Clemson, Miami, and oh yeah UF). So to be thinking “orange” painting a children’s room with an “orange” theme and wearing “orange” from time to time you should know I am truly dedicated and now I just need some more “essence” to get my leadership and volunteers on board for the final push so not only will we be an “orange” children’s ministry, but an “orange” community.
I would love to have a DVD that easily explains the thought behind Orange to volunteers and staff. So instead of spending all my time explaining it, they can just ask me questions they may have after seeing it.
Would love to be able to share this DVD with Youth Team as well as Senior Pastor.
We are in the very beginning stages of overhauling our children’s thru students ministry. In my second year as youth pastor and I am starting to bleed orange! We have begun small groups two weeks ago with XP3 students and they love it! I do as well along with our leaders. Need further info to implement into our prek-childrens ministry. Would greatly appreciate the dvd to train our leaders into a strategy not a curriculum.
My church has been dealing with apples! We need some orange!
Seriously I just bought the ‘think orange’ book, and I am digesting the juice/pulp/skin. Winning the DVD would help apply what I am taking in, and share the vision for further implementation in ministry to young people.
Thanks
Pastor Andrew Edmonds
I’m a student pastor in Western South Dakota. We have a great children’s ministry and over the last 3 years it has become the largest ministry in our church. Great! One problem though we are struggling to get students transitioned into the Student Ministry from our Children’s Ministry! What little I’ve been exposed to the Orange Strategy, mostly through some introductory stuff and this blog week, I think it may be a great resource for us!
