So, yesterday I wrapped up my initial review of The Almighty Bible. I’ve never done a review that took three posts, but I’ve never really reviewed a product that was so comprehensive and versatile. I’ve been told to try to keep most posts at about 400 words and that was going to be too hard with all that this resource offered. To be honest, I’m not done. I still want to read one of the Biblical fiction books and give that a review, so maybe another one will come along in a few days.
However, the folks behind The Almighty Bible have something they want to give away. I’ve noticed that some other blogging friends have been giving away physical Almighty Bible books, but I’m giving away something different. I’m giving away three year-long memberships. Although pricing hasn’t been released yet, a year-long membership is a great gift… something you can use for your own kid or give away to a family in your ministry. I plan to have some families try it out and pilot it at our church.
So, I have three to give away. That means you have a lot of chances to win. Here is what you need to do.
First of all, write a comment below. Tell me your favorite memory of the Bible as a child or young believer. Second of all, send out a tweet linking people back to this post. You can say whatever you want to say, just use the #kidmin and #almightybible so I can track who tweeted. I’ll mix all the comments and tweets into random.org. The memory that sticks out the most to me from your comments, I’ll put in random.org 3 more times. This will run until Tuesday (Feb 22) at 11:59 PM.
Good luck!
My favorite story as a kid was David and Goliath…typical, yes – but reading it in the picture Bible that I had made it come alive…David was my hero. I would go in my backyard and fight “Philistines,” I would herd my sheep (2 dogs), and even made a slingshot.
Ryan, that is awesome! My 3 year old LOVES that story in particular and we take turns being goliath and getting hit in the head by one of his stuffed vegetables. He’s too young for a slingshot… huh?
My best memory of the Bible is actually a memory of a Bible. My grandmother gave me a small Bible with a picture of Jesus with little children on the front. I took it school every day in the third grade. Every moring after the Pledge of Allegiance the teacher would let me read a verse and then she would pray. ( Yeah, I know it was a long time ago.) I treasured that Bible. Wish I could find it to pass along to my grandkids. God bless that teacher. She was a sweet Christian lady.
Hey Kenny Ken, I remember having a Picture Bible (still do) and my favorite story from it was the story of Joseph. It was so visually stunning and gave the story more depth. It also made me realize how great the story of Joseph was.
MY favorite memory of the Bible as a child was when I first read my kids version all the way through. I was a very poor reader and kept my reading to myself and never actually shared with anyone that I had accomplished the task, but I felt a sense of pride and understanding when I had accomplished the task.
Keep up the great blogging!

I became a believer at the age of eight. We always used the King James version of the Bible which was boring to me and the reason I got into Children’s Ministry, to make the Bible exciting for kids. Love that there are Bible like the Almighty Bible out there for kids.
My dad was a pastor, and I remember these two red plaid love seats that were in his office at our house. I would sit and lean on the arm of one while I watched him read his big saddle-leather wrapped, “Sword of the Lord” stamped Bible on his desk. He would be hunched over it, reading, studying, and praying. I wanted to be just like him. My parents have a picture of me at about 4 years old, sitting at his desk with his Bible open and my hands folded, praying. I guess I turned out a lot like my dad. I’m just passionate about little people instead.
BTW – I think the Almighty Bible Club is going to be huge!
My favourite Bible verse as a child was John 3v16. I remember having to commit it to memory at Sunday School, and the one who remembered the verse best the following week was actually awarded £10, and I won! It is still one of my favourite verses today.
I tweeted as @mumoffunkids, and really hope I can enter from the UK.
